In Alexandria, assessments mirror land values more closely.

Because it is denser, it might be easier to find comparables. I don't think we're ever over a year behind. Make no mistake, every cute 80 year old bungalow is razed as soon as the land changes hands and replaced with the biggest monstrosity the land will hold. Still, assessments are based on current value (land + improvements), not maximum land value.
